Today is the 47th birthday of the South African Paratrooper. 1 Parachute Battalion was founded on the 1st of April 1961 and so began the journey of the this distinguished unit which has out done expectations and to this day is held in high esteem the world over. 15 brave men started this tradition of bravery, aggression and courage and that tradition has been continued on by those that have followed in their foot steps.
